David’s completed his PhD in 2018 with an unconditional pass and has since been granted Early Career Researcher status at the University of the Arts London. His research specialism has to date focused around the early history of corporate branding within Britain. Although his doctoral research was historically located, David’s research interests bridge between historical and futural design perspectives, as he is interested in developing a reciprocity between past, present and future concerns.
David has a particular interest in working between industry and commerce. This is evident in the knowledge exchange projects he has undertaken in collaboration with FreshBritain, Warner Media, and Swiss Re. He also takes an active interest in design pedagogy.
David has delivered conference papers and lectures on his research at the University of São Paulo, Willem de Kooning Academy (Rotterdam), the University of Warwick, Brighton University, the Royal College of Art, and University of the Arts London.
